HISTORY
Trstené is a small and untill 1960 a very muddy willage but it has a riche history because
this willage was a seat of landowners and 3 other willages were in their property. Very good position and
roads to the middle and to the south part of Liptov, close distance to Bobrovec that had town privileges
and big forest – were reasons for landowners to build successively church, school and law court in this
willage. They were in contact with district authorities and they had in the willage during some time their
district inferior administrator too. The landowners of this willage were written as „de Nadasd“.
Unfortunatelly in the time of serfdom our ancestors were exploited by them because they had hard to work
on the fields of landowners and they had no rights. After abolition of the serfdom ended also
for inhabitants of this willage this hard work for landowners. In that time came to the willage
new settlers – teacher, cook, farmers, scribe, server, all these peple lifted general life level
of the willage. Landowners began to rent or to sell their properties to Jews or to former serves.
These new rentners and owners began to work with new methods and they offered the work also to many
poor people.
